New Bed...still to be named

This is just the head board of the latest bed design to emerge from our workshop. Smaller sections of wood allow for a fan of pieces to be fused together, creating a xylophone effect. Each piece has been hand picked to display the qualities of an array of different woods. Beautiful knots and burrs, and loops and whirls of grain pattern this eye-catching bed. We'll finish it soon but just thought you might like to see the progress so far!

We keep our chisels sharp to cut the mortice and tenon joints that lock this bed firmly together. Headboard and tailboard are two separate units that slot together using the side lengths, meaning that the whole bed can be dismantled for delivery and carrying (up the stairs!) to its final destination. Strong bed bolts make for an easy assembly and a solid bed that will last a lifetime.

The organic twists and turns of the wood really come to the fore in the driftwood bed, knots and wavy lines of grain are part of the organic beauty of the design. Imagine climbing into such a naturally inspired structure for a deep sleep or returning to bed clutching the newspapers on the weekend.
